My little Caleb is almost nine months old! Time is flying by so quickly. Every day seems like two days in one. Incredible!
Well, Caleb has moved forward in many ways. He is eating cheerios, crackers, and the Gerber dissolvable bits. We still feed him the baby food. But he's still not completely thrilled about it. He'll eat half the jar or less and be done. He still just prefers to nurse. I tried to give him a bottle this week when I was trying to get dinner on and he was hungry. He drank a few sips, enough that we'll keep trying. It would be nice to be able to give him a bottle.
He was sleeping really well for a while. I was actually getting four hour stints in between feedings. But now he's starting to struggle. He has become VERY attached to me. At this point I know that he doesn't necessarily HAVE to be fed at night. I complain, but honestly, I'm okay with the lack of sleep. The benefits of breastfeeding Caleb have outweighed the fatigue. I have continued to lose weight (not to mention the benefits for him), I know for a fact that the nursing has burned the calories and the healthy eating has aided in the process. So, I figure I will continue to nurse him as often as he wants until he is 1 year old. Then I will have reached my weight goal, and I will help train him to be a bit more independent. Unless plans change:)
Caleb is becoming very mobile! He scoots around on his tummy with his arms, he rolls around, and he is very close to crawling. Right now he just rocks on his arms with his knees almost in position. We're trying to help him figure it out. At the moment, he is very frustrated that he can't figure it out. Hopefully he'll catch on within the next couple of days.
Caleb is so sweet! His laugh is contagious! It is wonderful to feel so needed (most of the time!)
Oh how we love our Caleb!!
