Thinking About My Caleb

Jakob is sitting next to me and he says "Say Caleb is so fun!" He is exactly right. Caleb is so fun. He is so sweet and refreshing. This time of year can be hard for some mothers who have lost their babies. I have a friend in the ward who told me she is really struggling. It makes me so grateful for my Caleb. He is over 8 months old, yet he is still so much a little baby. I don't think that is coincidence. He still likes to snuggle with me. The little guy is still resisting solid food. We try to feed it to him. But he still prefers to nurse exclusively.

He's getting really heavy though. I think he's leaning towards 20 pounds. Last night my body ached as I picked him up and put him down throughout the night. Luckily he is sleeping more throughout the night. I get at least 1 3 hour strech each night. That's a blessing.

Caleb is still rolls around everywhere if we'll let him. He reaches as far as he can to get toys out of reach. Still no crawling or scooting forward. I don't mind stationary.

Caleb has a precious personality. He has a deep laugh. It's almost like he holds it in a bit. But I LOVE to hear him Laugh. He enjoys sitting next to his bucket of toys and playing with them. He'll be content with that for a long time if people are around. When he gets mad he's quick to cry. But he's not hard to get settled down.

He still has strange nursing habits during the day. He refuses to fall asleep while nursing. So if he's tired, he'll squirm and latch on and off until he gets too angry to nurse. Then I just have to put him to bed hungry. He doesn't eat well during the day. Another reason he wakes so much throughout the night.

Ahhh, we love our Caleb!! Here's som of his latest photos:
